Tokyo Steel Manufacturing Co., Ltd., Japan's largest electric arc furnace steelmaker, B50A1300 Non oriented electrical steel, announced on Monday that it will maintain its steel product prices unchanged in February due to weak domestic demand.
This marks the second consecutive month that Tokyo Steel has maintained the same prices for all its products, including its core product, H-beams.
Specifically, the price of bar products, including rebar, will remain at 82,000 yen per ton (approximately $520 per ton), B50A1300 Non oriented electrical steel, while the price of H-beams will remain at 103,000 yen per ton (approximately $654 per ton).
In its statement, the company noted that domestic demand for construction steel in Japan remains weak due to the impact of severe winter weather, B50A1300 Non oriented electrical steel, which has hampered the progress of some construction projects; meanwhile, demand for steel in the manufacturing sector is showing signs of gradual recovery.
