U.S. crude steel production in the week (August 9-16)

According to data from the American Iron and Steel Institute (AISI), RAIN RI/D500 steel in the week ending August 16, 2025, domestic crude steel production was 1.609 million tons, a weekly decrease of 23,600 tons, a monthly increase of 0.54 tons, and a year-on-year increase of 43,500 tons; the domestic crude steel capacity utilization rate was 78.3%, a weekly decrease of 1.2 percentage points, a monthly increase of 0.3 percentage points, and a year-on-year increase of 0.6 percentage points.

As of August 16, 2025, adjusted year-to-date production is 50.72 million tons, up 0.63 million tons year-on-year, RAIN RI/D500 steel with an average annual capacity utilization rate of 76.67%, up 0.2% year-on-year.
