ASK:

What’s the A1008 HSLAS-F steel ?

ANSWER: ASTM A1008 HSLAS-F steel is Low alloy high strength steel with improved formability, “HS” means high strength , “LA” means low alloy, “F” means improved formability.

ASTM A1008 HSLAS-F steel has four grades, they are :A1008 HSLAS-F grade 50(340), A1008 HSLAS-F grade 60(410), A1008 HSLAS-F grade 70(480), A1008 HSLAS-F grade 80(550)

The carbon composition of all the above grades is max 0.15%. The yield strength of A1008 HSLAS-F grade 50(340) min 340MPa, tensile strength is min 410 Mpa, Elongation 50mm is min 22%;

The yield strength of A1008 HSLAS-F grade 60(410) is min 410MPa, tensile strength is min 480Mpa, Elongation 50mm is min 18%;

The yield strength of A1008 HSLAS-F grade 70(480) is min 480MPa, tensile strength is min 550 Mpa, Elongation 50mm is min 16%;

The yield strength of A1008 HSLAS-F grade 80(550) is min 480MPa, tensile strength is min 620Mpa, Elongation 50mm is min 14%;
