What’s the SG460 Grade A steel ?

ANSWER: SG460 Grade A is the material in International standard ISO 630-3. ISO 630-3 specifies requirements for flat and long products of hot rolled weldable fine grain structural steels in the Normalized-rolled delivery conditions. ISO 630-3 applies to steel plates rolled on a reversing mill, wide flats, hot rolled sections and bars, which are intended for use in heavily loaded parts of welded or bolted structures.

The delivery condition of SG460 Grade A steel is Normalized rolled

SG460 Grade A steel flat and long products apply to thickness not more than 100mm

The “S” in SG460 Grade A means “Structural”

SG460 Grade A steel apply for the sheet, plate, strip, wide flats and flats, sections, Bars and rods products.

SG460 Grade A steel plates can be produced into heavily loaded parts of welded structures such as bridges, flood gates, storage tanks, water supply tanks. And so on.

SG460 Grade A impact test temperature is 20°C

Max CEV in % for nominal produce of SG460 Grade A is : 0.45

Yield strength of SG460 Grade A steel is min 420MPa

Tensile strength of SG460 Grade A steel is 570-720MPa

Elongation of SG460 Grade A steel not more than 19%.
