What’s the A1008 HSLAS steel ?

ANSWER: ASTM A1008 HSLAS steel is Low alloy high strength steel, “HS” means high strength , “LA” means low alloy.

ASTM A1008 HSLAS steel has nine grades, they are :A1008 HSLAS grade 45(310), A1008 HSLAS grade 50(340), A1008 HSLAS grade 50(340), A1008 HSLAS grade 55(380) , A1008 HSLAS grade 60(410), A1008 HSLAS grade 65(450), A1008 HSLAS grade 70(480), All the above grades have class 1 and class 2.

The carbon composition of all the above class 2 is max 0.15%.

A1008 HSLAS grade 50(340) class 1 is max 0.22%

A1008 HSLAS grade 50(340) class 1 is max 0.23%,

A1008 HSLAS grade 55(380) class 1 is max 0.25%,

A1008 HSLAS grade 60(410)/65(450)/70(480)class 1 is max 0.26%, The yield strength of A1008 HSLAS grade 45(310) class 1 is min 310MPa, tensile strength is min 410 Mpa, Elongation 50mm is min 22%;

The yield strength of A1008 HSLAS grade 45(310) class 2 is min 310MPa, tensile strength is min 380 Mpa, Elongation 50mm is min 22%;
