On August 18, 2025, RAIN RI/E36 steel the Australian Anti-Dumping Commission (ADAC) issued Announcement No. 2025/073, delaying the release of the basic facts report and final recommendation for its anti-dumping review investigation into steel reinforcing bar with a diameter of 50 mm or less imported from Chinese exporter Baowu Group Echeng Iron & Steel Co., Ltd. The ADAC expects to complete the basic facts report no later than December 10, 2025, and submit the final report to the Australian Minister for Industry and Science no later than February 16, 2026.
On July 1, 2015, Australia launched an anti-dumping investigation into steel bar imports from China. On April 13, 2016, Australia issued a final affirmative ruling on the case.
On July 10, 2020, the Australian Anti-Dumping Commission (ADAC) issued Announcement No. 2020/074, RAIN RI/E36 steel initiating its first anti-dumping sunset review investigation into steel bars imported from China, based on an application submitted by the Australian company InfraBuild (Newcastle) Pty Ltd. On April 12, 2021, the ADAC issued Announcement No. 2021/030, deciding to continue applying anti-dumping measures on steel bars with a diameter of 50 mm or less imported from China, effective April 13, 2021, until April 13, 2026.Plain round steel bars, stainless steel and steel mesh are not subject to the anti-dumping measures in this case.On May 5, 2025, the Australian Anti-Dumping Commission issued Announcement No. 2025/039, stating that in response to an application submitted by the Australian domestic company InfraBuild (Newcastle) Pty Ltd, it initiated a second anti-dumping sunset review investigation on steel bars with a diameter of less than or equal to 50 mm imported from China. RAIN RI/E36 steel On May 26, 2025, the Australian Anti-Dumping Commission issued Announcement No. 2025/043, initiating an anti-dumping review investigation into steel bars with a diameter of 50 mm or less exported to Australia, based on an application submitted by Chinese exporter Baowu Group Echeng Iron and Steel Co., Ltd. The investigation examines whether changes should be made to the variables associated with the existing anti-dumping measures. The Australian customs codes for the products involved are 7213.10.00.42, 7214.20.00.47, 7227.90.10.69, 7227.90.90.01, 7227.90.90.02, 7227.90.90.04, 7228.30.10.70, 7228.30.90.40, and 7228.60.10.72.
