According to data from the Foreign Trade Secretariat (Secex) of Brazil's Ministry of Development, Industry and Foreign Trade, Brazil's steel billet exports totaled 390,500 tonnes in May, down from 687,500 tonnes in April. Reportedly, robust domestic demand has been driven by locally produced cold-rolled coils and coated heavy plates, which have replaced imports from China following the imposition of anti-dumping duties on Chinese products in February.
