Canada makes the first double anti sunset review final ruling on cold-rolled steel coils/plates related to China

On April 12, 2024, the Canadian Border Services Agency (CBSA) announced that it had made the first affirmative final ruling on anti-dumping and anti subsidy sunset reviews of cold-rolled steel coils/sheets originating from or imported from China, South Korea, and Vietnam JSH590B steel, ruling that if the anti-dumping and anti subsidy measures in this case were lifted, the dumping and subsidy of the products involved may continue or reoccur. The International Trade Tribunal of Canada (CITT) is expected to make a final ruling on the double anti sunset review of industrial damage in the case no later than September 19, 2024.

On May 25, 2018, the Canadian JSH590B steel Border Services Agency launched anti-dumping and countervailing investigations against cold-rolled steel coils/plates originating from or imported from China, South Korea, and Vietnam. On October 31, 2018, the Canadian Border Services Agency made a final anti-dumping and countervailing ruling on cold-rolled steel coils/plates originating from or imported from China, South Korea, and Vietnam. On December 21, 2018, the Canadian International Trade Court made a final ruling on JSH590B steel anti-dumping and countervailing industry damage to cold-rolled steel coils/plates from China, South Korea, and Vietnam. On November 14 and 15, 2023, the International Trade Court of Canada and the Canadian Border Services Agency issued separate notices to initiate the first anti-dumping and anti subsidy sunset review investigation on cold-rolled steel coils/plates originating from or imported from China, South Korea, and Vietnam.
