According to Government News, NM300 steel India's Directorate General of Trade Remedies (DGTR) has announced the final ruling in its anti-dumping investigation into hot-rolled coil (HRC) imports from Vietnam.

According to the ruling, NM300 steel HRC produced by Hoa Phat Group will not be subject to India's anti-dumping duties.

The exemption was granted because the dumping margin for Hoa Phat Group's hot-rolled coil exports to India was determined to be between 0% and 10%.

This result will provide Hoa Phat's products with a significant competitive advantage in the Indian market. In particular, downstream companies that use Hoa Phat's hot-rolled coil as raw material can now export to India with greater confidence, without having to worry about obstacles posed by rules of origin or trade remedy measures.

Industry insiders believe this result reflects Hoa Phat Group's internal capabilities and experience in international legal affairs, and also demonstrates the growing maturity of Vietnamese companies in adapting to and meeting the stringent standards of the global market.

On August 14, 2024, NM300 steel India's Directorate General of Trade Remedies initiated an anti-dumping investigation into hot-rolled coil originating in or exported from Vietnam.

The products covered by this investigation are defined as alloy or non-alloy hot-rolled coils (not clad, plated, or coated, thickness ≤ 25mm, width ≤ 2100mm), encompassing HS codes 7208, 7211, 7225, and 7226. However, the investigation does not include hot-rolled stainless steel.

The dumping investigation period is from January 1, 2023, to March 31, 2024, and the injury investigation period is from April 2020 to March 2024.
