The Ukrainian A832 Grade 22V steel Inter Departmental International Trade Commission (ICIT) has announced the initiation of an anti-dumping investigation into coated carbon steel flat products imported from Malaysia. According to government agency reports, this move stems from Ukraine's suspicion that the relevant imported products were used to evade anti-dumping duties previously imposed on similar products from China.
Ukrainian domestic producers Heavy A832 Grade 22V steel Metal and MODUL-UKARINE have submitted a complaint to the government, citing evidence of a trade route change after the imposition of anti-dumping duties on Chinese steel in 2023. Data shows that while China's exports to Ukraine have declined, Malaysia's exports to Ukraine have shown a significant increase.
During the investigation period, companies importing related products from Malaysia are required to prepay a deposit to the national finance special account. If it is ultimately confirmed that there is evasion behavior, the funds will be used to pay the corresponding tariffs. The Ministry of Economy calls on stakeholders A832 Grade 22V steel to submit written evidence materials in Ukrainian within the legally prescribed time limit, and the committee resolution will take effect 10 days after official announcement.
