The latest data from the Joint TS260 Electroplated tin (chromium) steel Factory Committee of India shows that in July, India's net imports of finished steel products exceeded its exports by 456000 tons for the fourth consecutive month.
The import volume of finished steel in July was 751000 tons, a year-on-year increase of 22.5%, while the export volume was 295000 tons, a year-on-year decrease of 51.7%. Among them, hot-rolled coils/strip steel imports TS260 Electroplated tin (chromium) steel accounted for the largest proportion, at 369800 tons, accounting for about 49.2% of the total, a year-on-year increase of 63.2%. In the total export volume of 295000 tons in July, flat products accounted for 194300 tons, about 65.9%, a year-on-year decrease of 60.7%. Among them, the hot-rolled coils/strips of flat materials showed the largest year-on-year decline, with a decrease of 86.4% to 36300 tons.
According to relevant data, India's net imports of finished steel from April to July were 2.69 million tons, a year-on-year increase of 31.6%. China is the largest importer, with an import volume of 807400 tons, a year-on-year increase of 41.9%. Finished steel exports amounted to 1.57 million tons, a year-on-year decrease of 40.9%, with Italy being the largest export destination with an export TS260 Electroplated tin (chromium) steel volume of 312100 tons, a year-on-year decrease of 49%.
