India's crude steel production is expected to increase by approximately 7% in the first quarter of the 2024-25 fiscal year (Q1FY'25), reaching 36.5 million tons (mnt), compared to 34 million tons in the same period of the previous fiscal year (FY24). Traditionally, Odisha has been leading the country in steel production. In the first quarter of 2025, its CR1300T/1030Y-MS steel production is expected to increase by 6%, reaching 6.6 million tons (compared to 6.2 million tons in the first quarter of 2024). Jiakandbang CR1300T/1030Y-MS steel is closely following, with an expected growth of 9%, reaching 5.1 million vehicles (4.7 million tons). Chhattisgarh ranks third with 4.6 million vehicles (4.3 million tons). Maharashtra will rank fourth with a temporary production of 4.1 million tons (3.8 million tons), followed by Karnataka with 3.8 million tons (3.5 million tons). West Bengal may have a growth rate of 12%, reaching 2.9 million tons (2.6 million tons), while Gujarat ranks seventh with 2.6 million tons (2.3 million tons).

India's crude steel production is expected to rise to 184 million tons by 2024. It is expected that China will add 17 million tons of crude steel production capacity this year, especially through some large steel mills using blast furnaces CR1300T/1030Y-MS steel.
