Italy's ADI plans to shut down blast furnace 2

Share:

Italian steel manufacturer Acciaierie d'Italia (ADI) announced that it will shut down the Taranto area's No. 2 blast furnace for equipment maintenance work from December 4 to December 11, 2023 HX300BD+ZM steel. This plan will have an impact on the normal operation of raw material parks, coking plants, steel mills, and rolling mills. It is understood that ADI's No.1 blast furnace was discontinued in July.

ADI Company has two blast furnaces in the Taranto region, each with an annual production capacity of 1.7 million tons. After the shutdown of the No. 2 blast furnace, the No. 4 blast furnace will become the only blast furnace in the region to be put into operation. This is the first time in ADI's history that only one blast furnace has been used for production activities, and the daily production is expected to remain at 7000 tons HX300BD+ZM steel.

To address industrial planning issues, ADI Company plans to hold a meeting on December 6th, which has been postponed twice before HX300BD+ZM steel.
