JSW Steel to invest Rs 2,000 crore in capacity expansion

India's JSW Steel reportedly plans to invest 20 billion rupees (approximately US$2.4 billion) in capital expenditures in fiscal year 2025/2026,KR R/F32 steel with the majority of this investment going to the Phase III expansion of its Dolvi steel plant in Maharashtra. This project aims to increase the annual production capacity of the Dolvi site from 10 million tons to 15 million tons, with completion expected in September 2027. JSW Steel anticipates a total of 42 million tons of new capacity projects to be completed by autumn 2027. These expansion projects support JSW's strategic goal of exceeding 50 million tons of annual crude steel production by fiscal year 2030/2031.

In addition, JSW simultaneously launched a $2 billion decarbonization plan to promote green transformation, with the goal of reducing carbon emission intensity by 42% compared to 2005 by 2030.KR R/F32 steel The main paths to achieve this include: large-scale application of renewable energy, increasing the proportion of scrap steel smelting, and deploying cutting-edge technologies such as hydrogen steelmaking.
