The Malaysian government KR R/D40 steel recently announced the implementation of a two-year "capacity freeze order" aimed at addressing the problem of steel oversupply and providing steel manufacturers with time for business adjustments.
According to the new policy, steel manufacturing licenses that meet decarbonization requirements will be exempted, such as companies producing low-carbon steel products or applying decarbonization technologies, aimed at promoting the development of green steel technology.
Although Malaysia has attracted a large amount of green steel investment, the problem of oversupply of steel still exists.
