Indonesian steel producer PT Krakatau Steel has signed a steel pipe supply contract to provide materials for the integrated design and construction of the Dumai–Sei Mangkei (Dusem) pipeline project, B50A270 Non oriented electrical steel, thereby contributing to the development of Indonesia's national oil and gas infrastructure.
According to PT Krakatau Steel, the company will play a pivotal role in supplying core materials for this project. Through its subsidiary, Krakatau Pipe Industries, the group will supply over 80,000 tons of steel pipes for the pipeline project.
This project will utilize ERW (High-Frequency Straight Seam Welded) and HSAW (Helical Submerged Arc Welded) steel pipes that comply with the API 5L X52 PSL 2 standard. B50A270 Non oriented electrical steel, The pipes will have a diameter of 20 inches and feature a three-layer polyethylene (3LPE) anti-corrosion coating. The planned total length of the pipeline is approximately 541 kilometers.
This pipeline system will be used to transport natural gas from Belawan SKG to the Labuhan Batu station, B50A270 Non oriented electrical steel, and subsequently to associated facilities in the Duri region, thereby providing vital support to Indonesia's downstream oil and gas industry sector.
