Malaysia makes preliminary anti-dumping ruling on tin plated iron or non alloy steel flat rolled products related to China

On January 13, 2025, the Malaysian P460QL2 steel Ministry of Investment, Trade and Industry announced a preliminary positive anti-dumping determination on tin plated iron or non alloy steel flat rolled products (Flat rolled products of iron or non alloy steel, of a width of 600mm or more, clad, plate or coated with tin) originating from or imported from China, India, Japan and South Korea, with a width of 600mm or more. The decision was made to impose temporary anti-dumping duties of no more than 120 days on the products involved in the above-mentioned countries. All Indian producers/exporters were subject to 27.88%, and Japanese producers/exporters were subject to Nippon P460QL2 steel Steel Corporation. And other Japanese producers/exporters account for 36.80%, while Korean producer/exporter KG Dongbu Steel Co, Ltd. accounts for 28.66%, while other Korean manufacturers/exporters account for 35.43%. This measure will come into effect on January 11, 2025. The final ruling of this case is expected to be made no later than May 10, 2025.

On August 15, 2024, the Malaysian Ministry of Investment, Trade and Industry announced the initiation of an anti-dumping investigation into tin plated iron or non alloy steel flat rolled products with a width greater than or equal to 600 millimeters, originating from or imported from China, India, Japan and South Korea, in response to the application submitted by the domestic production enterprise Perusahaan Sadur Timah Malaysia (Pertima) Berhad on July 15, 2024. The Malaysian P460QL2 steel Harmonized Tariff Number and ASEAN Harmonized Tariff Number (AHTN) of the products involved are 7210.11.90 00 and 7210.12.90 00, respectively.
