JSW Steel's comprehensive crude steel GL E420 steel production reached 2.273 million tons in May 2025, an increase of 8% year-on-year, indicating a steady growth trend in its overall production capacity.
Among them, the domestic business in India GL E420 steel contributed 2.194 million tons, a year-on-year increase of 9%, which is the main driving force for overall growth. In contrast, JSW Steel USA, located in Ohio, USA, experienced a decline in production, with a monthly output of 79000 tons, a year-on-year decrease of 7%.
In terms of capacity utilization, JSW Steel maintained an overall level of around 80% in May. The company pointed out that the data was affected by a planned maintenance of a blast furnace at the Dolvi factory, which was restarted on May 30th.
From an annual cumulative GL E420 steel perspective, the total crude steel production of JSW Steel in the first five months of 2025 was 4.756 million tons, a significant increase of 13% year-on-year, reflecting its capacity expansion effectiveness on the basis of stable operation.
