On September 12, 2024, the Mexican SG345 Grade B steel Ministry of Economy issued a notice, making the final ruling of the fourth sunset review of anti-dumping on silicon manganese iron (Spanish: ferrosilicon manganese) originating in Ukraine, and also making the final ruling of mid-term review, deciding to continue to impose an anti-dumping duty of 16.59% on the products involved. The measures will take effect from September 25, 2023, and are valid for five years. The TIGIE tax numbers of the products involved are 7202.30.01 and 9802.00.13. The announcement shall take effect from the day after its publication.
On May 15, 2002, Mexico initiated an anti-dumping investigation into silicon manganese iron originating from Ukraine. On September 24, 2003, Mexico SG345 Grade B steel made a final anti-dumping ruling on Ukrainian silicon manganese iron and began imposing an anti-dumping duty of 51.28%. On September 24, 2008, Mexico initiated its first sunset review investigation into the case. On February 8, 2010, Mexico made its first sunset review final ruling on the case, reducing the anti-dumping duty from 51.28% to 16.59%, with a validity period of five years. Afterwards, Mexico conducted two sunset reviews, making affirmative rulings and extending the tax period on October 9, 2014 and August 20, 2019, respectively. On September 22, 2023, Mexico initiated its fourth sunset review investigation into the case, while the Ministry of Economy decided to independently initiate an interim review investigation. On March 21, 2024, Mexico made a preliminary ruling on the interim review of the case, which upheld the current anti-dumping duty SG345 Grade B steel of 16.59%.
