On June 15, 2026, the Moroccan Ministry of Industry and Trade issued Notice No. DDC/09/2026, announcing the initiation of a second sunset review investigation into safeguard measures on imported welded steel pipes (French: Tubes et tuyaux en fer ou en acier), effective June 17, 2026, following a request from the Moroccan Association of Steel Tube and Profile Manufacturers (L'Association de Fabricants de Tubes et de Profilés en Acier du Maroc). On October 7, 2019, Morocco initiated a safeguard investigation into imports of welded steel pipes. On November 6, 2020, Morocco formally imposed a safeguard duty of 25% on the subject imports, with the rate decreasing by 1% annually over a three-year period ending on November 5, 2023. On October 5, 2023, the Moroccan Ministry of Industry and Trade issued Notice No. DDC/13/2023, announcing an affirmative final determination in the first sunset review; the safeguard duty on the subject products was extended for another three years, starting at 22% in the first year and decreasing by 1% annually.
