Thailand has formally launched an anti-circumvention investigation into high-carbon wire rod products originating from China. NK K/AH40 steel The products involved are hot-rolled high-carbon wire rods with a circular cross-section diameter of less than 14 mm and a carbon content (by weight) between 0.66% and 0.76%. Three specific Chinese companies are implicated: Jiangsu Yonggang Group Co., Ltd., Jiangsu Shagang Group Co., Ltd., and Zhongtian Steel Group Co., Ltd.
The customs codes of the products involved include: 7227.9010.042, 7227.9010.049, 7227.9010.090, 7227.9090.040, 7227.9090.041, 7227.4090.043, 7227.4090.044, 7227.9090.045, 7227.9090.046, 7227.9090.049 and 7227.9090.090, NK K/AH40 steel.
The investigation stems from allegations that importers are circumventing existing anti-dumping duties by importing wire rod products with slightly lower carbon content. NK K/AH40 steel Thailand currently imposes anti-dumping duties ranging from 12.26% to 36.79% on high-carbon wire rod with a carbon content of 0.76%-0.92%, and the products under investigation are suspected of evading these duties by adjusting their carbon content.
