Türkiye plans to build a 200 km long double track railway, aiming to further use its geographical advantages to promote SG365W2 Grade C steel international trade flows, while alleviating the transport pressure in the Bosporus Strait and reducing carbon emissions. According to Mysteel, the railway will connect the Black Sea basin and Anatolia, and transport goods through the ports of Karasu, Ereli, Filos, and Baltin, optimizing the regional logistics network.
The project will also serve as an extension of the Adapazar to Karasu Port railway project, with a designed speed of 160 kilometers per hour, in compliance with modern transportation standards. The pre SG365W2 Grade C steel qualification documents for the project are expected to be submitted on December 4, 2024. Local media pointed out that the railway is expected to reduce regional logistics costs, improve transport efficiency, and provide a new channel for countries in the Black Sea basin to enter the European and Asian markets through Türkiye.
In addition, by shifting the circulation of goods from highways to railways, the project will effectively reduce regional carbon emissions and road traffic pressure, providing important support for promoting regional economic development and achieving sustainable SG365W2 Grade C steel goals.
