On May 5, 2025, the Australian 42CrMoS4 steel Anti Dumping Commission issued Announcement No. 2025/039, stating that a second anti-dumping sunset review investigation has been initiated on steel reinforcement bars with a diameter of 50 millimeters or less imported from China, in response to an application submitted by the domestic Australian company InfraBuild (Newcastle) Pty Ltd. The dumping investigation period for this case is from April 1, 2024 to March 31, 2025, and the injury investigation period starts from April 1, 2020. The Australian customs codes for the products involved are 7213.10.00.42, 7214.20.00.47, 7227.9010.10.69, 7227.990.01, 7227.990.02, 7227.990.04, 7228.310.10.70, 7228.390.0.40, and 7228.610.072. The Australian Anti Dumping Commission is expected to complete the basic factual report of this investigation no later than August 25, 2025, and submit the final ruling report to the Australian Minister of Industry and Science no later than October 7, 2025.

On July 1, 2015, Australia initiated an anti-dumping investigation into 42CrMoS4 steel bars imported from China. On April 13, 2016, Australia made a final positive anti-dumping ruling on the product in question.
On July 10, 2020, the Australian Anti Dumping Commission issued Announcement No. 2020/074, stating that the first anti-dumping sunset review investigation has been initiated on steel bars imported from China in response to an application submitted by Australian company InfraBuild (Newcastle) Pty Ltd. On April 12, 2021, the Australian 42CrMoS4 steel Anti Dumping Commission issued Announcement No. 2021/030, deciding to continue implementing anti-dumping measures on steel bars with a diameter of 50 millimeters or less imported from China from April 13, 2021, and to impose anti-dumping duties through a combination of fixed and variable tax rates. The dumping margin for all Chinese exporters is 19.0%, and this measure will be terminated on April 13, 2026. Round steel bars, stainless steel, and steel mesh are not subject to anti-dumping measures in this case.
