On May 1, 2025, the US 34CrMo4 steel Department of Commerce announced the initiation of the second anti-dumping and countervailing sunset review investigation into carbon and certain alloy steel wire rods imported from China. At the same time, the United States International Trade Commission (ITC) has initiated a second anti-dumping and countervailing sunset review industry injury investigation on carbon steel alloy wire rods imported from China, examining whether the substantial damage caused by the import of the involved products to the domestic industry in the United States will continue or occur again within a reasonable foreseeable period if the current anti-dumping and countervailing measures are lifted. Stakeholders shall register their responses with the US Department of Commerce within 10 days from the date of this announcement. Stakeholders should submit their responses to the US International Trade Commission by June 2, 2025, and provide comments on the adequacy of their responses to the case no later than July 9, 2025.

On November 13, 2014, the US Department of Commerce made a final anti-dumping and countervailing ruling on carbon steel alloy wire rods imported from China. On December 2, 2019, the US Department of Commerce launched its first anti-dumping and countervailing sunset review investigation into carbon steel alloy wire rods imported from China. On March 30, 2020, the US Department of Commerce made its first countervailing fast sunset review final ruling on carbon steel alloy wire rods imported from China. On April 6, 2020, the US Department of Commerce made its first anti-dumping fast sunset review final ruling on carbon steel alloy wire rods imported from China 34CrMo4 steel.
