According to Mysteel, Brazil's import and export volumes of hot-rolled coils both declined in April compared to the previous month; exports stood at 22,500 tonnes, HCT980X+ZF Hot dip Zinc-Iron alloy coating (ZF) steel , down 4,300 tonnes month-on-month, while imports totaled 38,100 tonnes, marking a significant drop from the 72,000 tonnes recorded in March.

In terms of exports, Brazilian hot-rolled coils were primarily destined for the US and South American markets; 12,600 tonnes were exported to the US at an average price of $552/tonne (FOB), while 9,900 tonnes were exported to South American countries at an average price of $592/tonne (FOB). Overall, the decline in Brazil's hot-rolled coil exports in April was primarily driven by reduced shipments to South American markets, while the drop in import volumes was linked to a significant decrease in shipments from South Korea.
