On July 7, 2025, Canada BV/A420 steel Border Service Agency (CBSA) announced to extend the preliminary stage of anti-dumping duty investigation on carbon steel and alloy steel wire imported from China, Taiwan, China, India, Italy, Malaysia, Portugal, Spain, Thailand, Türkiye and Vietnam.
According to the Special BV/A420 steel Import Measures Act (SIMA), under normal circumstances, the preliminary ruling of the investigation should be completed within 90 days from the date of filing, that is, before April 22. However, due to difficulties in obtaining evidence and the complexity of the investigation issues, the deadline has been extended to 135 days. Therefore, the decision to issue a preliminary ruling or terminate the investigation BV/A420 steel will be made on or before September 4, 2025.
