On April 16, 2026, the U.S. Department of Commerce announced its final determinations in the second expedited sunset reviews concerning anti-dumping duties on non-oriented electrical steel imported from China, Germany, Japan, South Korea, Sweden, and Taiwan. Concurrently, the Department issued final determinations in the second expedited sunset reviews regarding countervailing duties on non-oriented electrical steel imported from China and Taiwan, concluding that revoking the existing countervailing measures would likely lead to the continuation or recurrence of subsidization at rates of 158.88% for China and 8.61%–17.12% for Taiwan.

On March 6, 2020, the U.S. Department of Commerce issued the final determination in the first expedited countervailing duty sunset review for non-oriented electrical steel imported from Taiwan. On December 1, 2025, the U.S. Department of Commerce initiated the second anti-dumping sunset reviews for non-oriented electrical steel imported from China, Germany, Japan, South Korea, Sweden, and Taiwan, and the second countervailing duty sunset reviews for non-oriented electrical steel imported from China and Taiwan.
