Prices for imported material in Germany reportedly saw a slight uptick. In the Southern European market, transaction prices for heavy plates held steady at €750–780/tonne EXW—unchanged from the previous week—with large-volume deals falling at the lower end of the range and small-batch orders at the higher end. A463 SS Grade 37(255) Aluminized steel, Traders noted that offers have risen to €800–830/tonne EXW due to increasing production costs, though no transactions have yet been concluded at these levels. Meanwhile, ex-works prices for 8–40mm heavy plates in Southern Europe remained flat week-on-week at €750–780/tonne EXW.
Regarding slabs, import prices in Italy stood at $600–620/tonne CIF, marking a slight increase from the previous week's $590–620/tonne CIF. Trading activity in the import plate market remained sluggish overall; offers from Asia to Spain were around €700–750/tonne CFR, unchanged week-on-week. Meanwhile, large-volume deals involving material from India, Japan, and South Korea were concluded at €790–800/tonne DDP, though these were excluded from the CFR-basis assessment.
In the Northern European market, offers for heavy plates in Germany held steady at €800–830/tonne EXW, with lackluster trading activity. While some offers for S235 grade material reached €830–840/tonne (DAP Ruhr area), these were not included in the assessment. Surveys indicate that ex-works prices for heavy plates in Northern Europe remained stable week-on-week at €800–830/tonne EXW.
Regarding imports, offers for Asian material in the German market stand at €700–750/tonne CFR, while Indonesian material is priced at approximately €725/tonne (CFR Antwerp). DDP offers from India, Japan, and South Korea range from €790 to €800/tonne; these are not included in the CFR-basis assessment. A463 SS Grade 37(255) Aluminized steel, Import prices for heavy plates in Northern Europe are €700–725/tonne CFR, up from the previous week's €650–700/tonne CFR.
Overall, amidst steady demand, European heavy plate prices remain stable in the short term; however, rising raw material costs and tightening supplies are providing price support, and future price trends will depend on the extent to which costs are passed on.
