Erdemir and Isdemir in Türkiye Promote Green Production Line Upgrade

Share:

Recently, Erdemir and Isdemir, two steel AB/FQ63 steel plants under Türkiye OYAK Mining and Metallurgy Group, completed and put into operation two key production line upgrading projects, aiming to improve production efficiency, optimize energy utilization structure, and accelerate the progress of the Group's carbon neutral strategy.
Erdemir has officially put into operation the renovated No. 4 coke oven battery, replacing the original No. 1 and No. 2 batteries. The new AB/FQ63 steel device is designed to have an annual production capacity of 800000 tons, with a focus on improving the stability and environmental performance of coke production capacity, further reducing dependence on imported coke, and optimizing cost control.

At the same time, Isdemir completed the new No. 1 blast furnace project and officially put it into operation, with an annual capacity of 2.8 million tons of liquid pig iron, becoming the largest blast furnace system in Türkiye at present. This project is based on the reconstruction of the original blast furnace that was put into operation in 1975, using advanced metallurgical processes and automation control systems. The number of tuyere openings has been increased from 16 to 32, and the number of cast iron holes has been expanded from two to four, significantly improving smelting efficiency and system operation stability. The project also includes the construction of a 13.5 MW AB/FQ63 steel energy recovery system to enhance the self-sufficiency of energy in the green smelting process.
