The steel production of Italian steel P355N steel producers in November 2024 decreased by 7.9% compared to the previous month, to 1.8 million tons. A year-on-year decrease of 4.4%. Compared with November last year, the production of long timber in November this year decreased by 5%, maintaining the same level as last month (1.1 million tons). The production of sheet metal was 7.47 million tons, a year-on-year decrease of 12.2% and a month on month decrease of 5.9%.
From January to November 2024, the steel P355N steel production of Italian steel manufacturers decreased by 4.7% year-on-year to 18.8 million tons. The output of long timber was 11 million tons (a year-on-year increase of 0%), and the output of flat timber was 8 million tons (a year-on-year decrease of 10.6%).
In 2023, Italy's steel P355N steel production decreased by 2.5% compared to 2022, reaching 21.06 million tons. The reason for the decline in steel production is the decrease in global demand for steel products and high energy costs. The annual output of long timber was 11.68 million tons, a decrease of 2.9% compared to 2022, and the output of flat timber was 9.54 million tons (a year-on-year decrease of 0.1%).
