According to preliminary data from the U.S. Census Bureau, Latin America’s total steel exports to the United States reached approximately 504,000 metric tons in May 2026, JAH440W Hot dip galvanized steel strip,a month-on-month increase of 25.6%.

Brazil remained the largest steel exporter to the U.S. from the region. In May, Brazil exported approximately 300,000 metric tons of steel to the U.S.—a significant rise from the 195,000 metric tons recorded in April—serving as the primary driver of export growth for Latin America.
