Mexico launches anti-dumping sunset review investigation on stainless steel sinks from China

On May 8, 2025, the Mexican 36CrNiMo4 steel Ministry of Economy announced that it had initiated the second sunset review of anti-dumping investigations on stainless steel sinks (weighing no more than 8 kilograms) originating in China, at the request of Mexican 36CrNiMo4 steel companies Cocinas Modulares, S.A. de C.V. and E.B. T é cnica Mexicana, S.A. de C.V. The dumping investigation period of this case is from April 1, 2024 to March 31, 2025, and the injury investigation period is from April 1, 2020 to March 31, 2025. The TIGIE tax number of the product involved is 7324.10.01. During the investigation of the case, the current anti-dumping duties remain in effect. The announcement shall take effect from the day after its publication.

On March 14, 2014, Mexico initiated an anti-dumping investigation into stainless steel sinks (weighing no more than 8 kilograms) originating from China. On May 8, 2015, Mexico made a positive final ruling on the case and began imposing anti-dumping duties on Chinese manufacturers/exporters. Among them, Taizhou Luqiao Jixiang Kitchenware Co., Ltd. had a rate of 4.14 USD/kg, and other Chinese 36CrNiMo4 steel manufacturers/exporters had a rate of 5.40 USD/kg. Afterwards, Mexico conducted a sunset review and made a positive ruling on June 7, 2021, extending the tax period.
