Driven by the FIFA SA841 Grade G steel World Cup in 2030, Morocco's large-scale infrastructure construction plan is creating new opportunities for Türkiye's steel exports. Adnan Aslan, chairman of Türkiye Iron and Steel Exporters Association (CIB), said on April 28 that Türkiye's exporters were planning to increase their steel exports to Morocco to 1 million tons per year.

To host the event, Morocco will build 38 new sports stadiums and promote road, high-speed railway, and other infrastructure projects, which are expected to significantly boost steel demand. In 2024, Türkiye SA841 Grade G steel will export 472000 tons of steel to Morocco, laying the foundation for subsequent growth.

On the whole, Türkiye's steel exports maintained a good growth momentum. In the first quarter of 2025, Türkiye's steel exports will reach 4.8 million tons, up 14% year on year. Türkiye's exporters have set a new growth target. They plan to increase their exports by 5% in 2025 on the basis of 2024, and strive to achieve a total export of 18.5 billion SA841 Grade G steel dollars.
