South Korean steelmaker POSCO has announced a partnership with Electra, a U.S.-based climate tech company, to jointly develop low-carbon ironmaking technology. HX260LAD+ZM steel strip ,The collaboration aims to combine POSCO’s expertise in direct reduction technology with Electra’s electrochemical ironmaking process, driving the steel industry’s transition toward low-emission production.
Sandeep Nijhawan, Co-founder and CEO of Electra, stated that POSCO possesses extensive experience in steel manufacturing, production technology, and process development; HX260LAD+ZM steel strip ,this partnership will help Electra steadily scale up the application of its clean ironmaking technology as it expands its customer base over the long term.
Eom Kyeong-geun (Head of POSCO’s Research Institute of Industrial Science & Technology) noted that the joint development agreement aims to achieve strategic synergy between POSCO’s proprietary direct reduction and engineering technologies and Electra’s innovative electrochemical process.
Furthermore, Kim Keun-hwan stated that this investment marks POSCO Investment’s first overseas strategic corporate venture capital (CVC) investment in the decarbonized steel sector; HX260LAD+ZM steel strip ,it is a landmark climate-tech investment that positions the company for the decarbonization era.
