On April 12, 2026, the Commission on Dumping, Subsidies and Elimination of Non-Tariff Trade Barriers of Peru's National Institute for the Defense of Competition and Intellectual Property Protection (INDECOPI) published Resolution No. 065-2026/CDB-INDECOPI in the official gazette El Peruano. The resolution announced an affirmative final anti-dumping determination regarding wire rod originating from China and formally imposed anti-dumping duties on the subject products for a period of five years. JIS G 3313 SECC steel strip, The specific duty rate is US$81.3 per tonne for Angang Steel Co., Ltd., Angang Group Hong Kong Co., Limited, Benxi North Steel Rolling Co., Ltd., Benxi Iron & Steel Hong Kong Limited, and all other producers/exporters. The subject products are low-carbon and high-carbon non-alloy wire rods with diameters ranging from 5.5 to 16 mm and smooth surfaces and cross-sections, falling under Peruvian tariff codes 7213.20.00.00, 7213.91.10.00, 7213.91.90.00, and 7213.99.00.00. The measures take effect on the day following the publication of the resolution.
On January 23, 2025, Peru initiated an anti-dumping investigation into wire rod originating from China. The period of investigation for dumping was from July 2023 to June 2024, while the period of investigation for injury was from July 2021 to June 2024. JIS G 3313 SECC steel strip, On July 8, 2025, Peru issued an affirmative preliminary ruling on the case (see Notice No. 092-2025/CDB-INDECOPI), preliminarily determining the imposition of a provisional anti-dumping duty of US$64.6 per tonne on the products concerned; the measure took effect on July 9, 2025, and is valid for four months.
