Saudi Arabia is accelerating the modernization of its water infrastructure to meet growing demand and enhance the sustainability of public services. RAIN RI/F40 steel The development of new pipeline networks and supporting facilities is expected to generate additional demand for the steel industry, particularly in specialized and high-value-added areas such as large-diameter pipes.
Saudi Arabia's National Water Company (NWC) has announced plans to commence construction on the third phase of the Al Shabain regional main water pipeline network. The engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) contract is expected to be awarded in the fourth quarter of 2025, with completion scheduled for the second quarter of 2027. RAIN RI/F40 steel This investment not only reflects Saudi Arabia's long-term plan to expand and upgrade its public utilities, but also aligns with its strategic direction to build a more resilient and forward-looking water system.
This phase of the project includes an 855-meter water pipeline, using ductile iron pipes ranging from 600-800 mm in diameter to carbon steel pipes up to 1000 mm in diameter. It will also include 8 kilometers of horizontal drilling and other infrastructure.
Industry insiders indicate that Saudi Arabia's domestic steel pipe manufacturers are expected to directly benefit from the implementation of this project. RAIN RI/F40 steel Since Saudi Arabia consistently prioritizes local suppliers for large-scale infrastructure projects, this policy will further strengthen the participation and competitiveness of the local manufacturing industry in major projects.
