On April 10, the major German steel manufacturer thyssenkrupp announced that it would supply approximately 1,000 tons of low-carbon "bluemint® Steel" for a water supply infrastructure project in Angola. The material is destined for the Quilonga Grande project, which aims to improve the water supply situation in the capital, Luanda. JIS G 3313 SEFC440 steel strip, The supply includes hot-rolled strip steel produced in Duisburg, which will be processed into large-diameter spiral-welded pipes by Mannesmann Grossrohr, a subsidiary based in Salzgitter. These pipes will measure 13.5 meters in length, with diameters ranging from 508 to 1,626 millimeters.

Specifically, the bluemint® Steel will be used to manufacture pipes with a diameter of 1,220 millimeters and a wall thickness of approximately 12 millimeters. These pipes will form part of a water transmission network spanning a total of about 105 kilometers. Luanda, a city with a population of approximately 10 million, currently faces a daily water deficit of around 1.2 million cubic meters and has historically relied heavily on water trucks for supply. JIS G 3313 SEFC440 steel strip, The project is regarded as a key initiative to ensure a stable supply of drinking water.

According to Mysteel, bluemint® Steel is a low-carbon steel product that incorporates a high proportion of scrap steel while maintaining the same quality as conventional steel. JIS G 3313 SEFC440 steel strip, Under the mass-balance approach, the CO2 emissions reduced during production are allocated to specific products. The company aims to contribute to reducing environmental impact and strengthening supply chains through the use of low-carbon materials in infrastructure projects.
