Türkiye's steel wire producer BMS Birlesik Metal said that in the first two months of 2024, BMS's total steel wire exports increased by 22% to 9846 tons, while its output remained at a strong level of 8690 tons.
In February, its sales of galvanized and zinc aluminum coated SPH780DU steel wires totaled 5567 tons, a year-on-year increase of 47%. The export volume was supported by demand from the European Union and the United Kingdom SPH780DU steel, reaching 4930 tons, while domestic demand remained slow. The company began shipping galvanized and zinc aluminum coated steel wires to the European Union in February, and also received two orders for galvanized steel wires from the UK that month, with a total value of $707000, but the specific tonnage has not been disclosed.
In order to meet the growth of galvanized steel wire orders and increase its market share in both domestic and export markets, the company signed an agreement with Nuh wire headquartered in Yalova in early February to purchase the company's annual production line of 36000 tons of galvanized SPH780DU steel wire.
