Türkiye’s Kocaer sees growth in both steel production and sales in the first half of the year, driven by exports and a high-value-added strategy

Turkish manufacturer Kocaer Steel achieved a double-digit increase in both production and sales in the first half of 2025, NK K/F70 steel driven by its continued expansion into high-value-added products and a solid overseas market network.

The company disclosed that its steel sales in the first half of 2025 increased by 19.7% year-on-year to 314,200 tons, with the proportion of high-value-added products increasing to 47%, a significant increase from 38% in the same period last year. NK K/F70 steel This increase was primarily due to equipment upgrades and the commissioning of new production lines at its two profile plants in Aliaga, Izmir, over the past two years, which optimized its product mix and production efficiency.

Despite pressure on global steel prices and rising trade uncertainty, Kocaer continues to ship 78% of its sales to export markets, demonstrating its competitive strength in international channel development and risk hedging. While the company did not disclose production figures for the same period, it stated that both output and sales saw significant year-on-year increases.

Kocaer currently has an annual finished steel production capacity of approximately 800,000 tons, covering a variety of profiles such as I-beams, channels, and angles. NK K/F70 steel In the coming years, the company plans to complete renewable energy projects, aiming to achieve net-zero greenhouse gas emissions under Scope 1 and Scope 2, and expand its revenue streams through carbon credit trading.
