Ukraine’s anti-dumping measures against China’s steel wire ropes and cables are about to expire

On May 31, 2024, the Ukrainian Ministry of Economy issued a statement stating that Ukraine has banned steel wire ropes and cables originating from China(Ukrainian: виготовлених зчорнихметалів, без електричної ізоляції (за винятком виробів зкорозійностійкої(нержавіючої) сталі та виробів для цивільної авіації))The anti-dumping measures will be implemented in May 2025. Expires on the 28th of the month. The products involved in the case are non insulated black steel wire ropes and cables, except for corrosion-resistant stainless steel products and civil aviation products.

On August 17, 2007, Ukraine launched an anti-dumping investigation against steel wire ropes and cables originating from China HC300LA steel. On July 23, 2008, in accordance with Resolution AD-183/2008/143-48 of the Ukrainian HC300LA steel Committee, Ukraine began to impose an anti-dumping duty of 123% on Chinese products involved in the case. Subsequently, Ukraine conducted two sunset reviews, on September 19, 2014 and May 28, 2020, respectively, and made two affirmative rulings and extended the tax collection period HC300LA steel.
