Weakening Seasonal Demand Prompts Ukraine’s Module to Cut Coated and Plated Sheet Shipment Plans

Share:

Affected by a seasonal decline in demand, the Ukrainian steelmaker Module maintained relatively stable supplies of coated and plated sheet products in November; however, shipment volumes are expected to contract significantly in December.

In November, Module shipped a total of approximately 6,300 tons of coated and plated sheet products—only a marginal increase compared to October. M125-35P Grain oriented electrical steel, Specifically, shipments of hot-dip galvanized coils amounted to roughly 2,100 tons, representing a 17% month-on-month increase, while shipments of color-coated coils totaled approximately 4,200 tons—a slight month-on-month decline of 2%. Nevertheless, actual shipment volumes fell short of original projections by approximately 1,000 tons; this shortfall was primarily attributed to a brief equipment shutdown at the beginning of the month, as well as delays in the supply of base materials from Zaporizhstal caused by damage to railway infrastructure.

As December begins—against a backdrop of seasonally weakening demand compounded by political and economic tensions that have significantly eroded customer purchasing power—Module plans to reduce its shipments of coated and plated steel sheets to 5,000 tons, a month-on-month decrease of 21%. M125-35P Grain oriented electrical steel, Specifically, planned shipments include 1,600 tons of galvanized products (down 24% month-on-month) and approximately 3,400 tons of color-coated coils (down 19% month-on-month). Furthermore, influenced by the traditional off-season, the facility plans to schedule a two-week shutdown for maintenance and inspection in early January of next year.

Data indicates that from January through November 2025, Module’s cumulative sales of coated and plated steel sheets totaled approximately 66,900 tons, representing a year-on-year increase of roughly 150%. M125-35P Grain oriented electrical steel, Within this total, shipments of galvanized sheets amounted to 30,200 tons—a 72% year-on-year increase—while shipments of color-coated coils reached 36,700 tons, up 44% year-on-year.
