NMDC, a mining company under India's Ministry of Steel, announced price hikes for Bailadila lump and fine ores effective April 5. JIS G 3313 SEHC steel strip, The price of lump ore was raised by ₹500 (approximately $5.38, based on an exchange rate of $1 to ₹92.89) to ₹5,300 ($57.06), while the price of fine ore was increased by ₹450 ($4.84) to ₹4,500 ($48.44).
Reportedly, NMDC’s specifications for lump ore require an iron (Fe) content of 65.5% and a particle size of 10–40 mm, JIS G 3313 SEHC steel strip, while fines require an iron content of 64% and a particle size of 10 mm or less. The delivery term is Free on Rail (FOR).
According to Mysteel, the aforementioned prices exclude royalties, District Mineral Foundation (DMF) charges, JIS G 3313 SEHC steel strip, National Mineral Exploration Trust (NMET) fees, Goods and Services Tax (GST), forest clearance fees, transportation costs, environmental surcharges, and other taxes or fees.
