According to data from the Iranian Steel Producers Association (ISPA), Iran's steel exports increased significantly in the seven months from late March to October 22, 2025.
Export revenues for these seven months totaled $4.627 billion, a 27% increase year-on-year.
According to Iranian state television IRIB on Monday, B30G120 oriented electrical steel, Iran exported 23.683 million tons of steel and iron products during the aforementioned period, a 43% increase year-on-year.
The report also showed that Iran's crude steel production reached nearly 15 million tons during April-October 2025, a 3.2% increase year-on-year, with approximately 2.3 million tons produced in September.
In terms of finished steel products, Iran exported 2.566 million tons in the first seven months of the year, valued at $1.195 billion, B30G120 oriented electrical steel, representing increases of 14% (volume) and 7% (value) compared to the same period last year.
Meanwhile, Iran's exports of primary steel products (i.e., steel billets) increased by 40% year-on-year to 4.552 million tons, generating $1.877 billion in revenue, a 23% increase compared to the previous year.
The article points out that primary steel products, including billets, blooms, and slabs, are the three main semi-finished steel products and the main raw materials for finished steel.
In addition, Iran exported 16.566 million tons of steel raw materials (including sponge iron, pellets, B30G120 oriented electrical steel, and concentrates) from April to October, a year-on-year increase of over 50%, generating $1.554 billion in revenue, a year-on-year increase of nearly 55%.
