Mexico issues final ruling on sunset review of anti-dumping measures against Chinese carbon steel pipe fittings

On August 13, 2025, RAIN RI/A36 steel Mexico's Ministry of Economy issued an affirmative final ruling in its fourth sunset review of anti-dumping measures against carbon steel pipe fittings (Spanish: conexiones de acero al carbón para soldar a tope) originating in China. The anti-dumping duty will continue to be imposed at $1.05 per kilogram, effective August 5, 2024, for five years. The products involved are carbon steel pipe fittings with an outer diameter of 0.5 to 16 inches (inclusive), including elbows, tees, reducers, and caps, under TIGIE tariff number 7307.93.01.

On April 14, 2003, Mexico initiated an anti-dumping investigation into carbon steel pipe fittings originating in China. On August 4, 2004, Mexico issued an affirmative final ruling on the case, imposing an 81.04% anti-dumping duty on the products involved. On November 7, 2006, Mexico issued a final ruling on an interim review of the case, lowering the anti-dumping duty from 81.04% to $2.07 per kilogram. RAIN RI/A36 steel On August 5, 2009, Mexico initiated the first sunset review investigation into the case.On February 2, 2011, Mexico issued the first final sunset review ruling in the case, lowering the anti-dumping duty on the products in question from $2.07 per kilogram to $1.05 per kilogram for five years. Mexico subsequently conducted two additional sunset reviews, on July 2, 2015, and August 19, 2020, respectively, resulting in affirmative rulings and extensions of the duty period. On August 2, 2024, RAIN RI/A36 steel Mexico initiated the fourth sunset review investigation in the case, with the dumping investigation period running from July 1, 2023, to June 30, 2024, and the injury investigation period from July 1, 2019, to June 30, 2024.
