Brazil makes preliminary anti-dumping ruling on tin plated and chrome plated coils from China

On September 23, 2024, the Foreign S460QL1 steel Trade Secretariat of the Brazilian Ministry of Development, Industry, Trade, and Services (Minist é riodo Desenvolvimento, Ind ú stria, Com é rcio e Servi ç os/Secretaria de Com é rcio Exterior) issued Announcement No. 49 of 2024, making a preliminary anti-dumping determination on any alloy or non alloy tin plated chrome plated coil (Portuguese: folhas met á licas de a ç o carbono, ligado ou n ã o ligado, de qualquer largura comespessura inferior a 0,5mm) originating from China with a width and thickness less than 0.5 millimeters, recommending the imposition of anti-dumping duties on the products involved in the case in China. Temporary anti-dumping duties not exceeding 6 months, with a tax amount of 251.97-341.28 US dollars per ton (see attached table for details of taxation). The tax numbers of the S460QL1 steel products involved in the case in Nanjing are 7210.12.00, 7210.50.00, 7212.10.00, and 7212.50.90. The deadline for the completion of the investigation in this case has been extended to 18 months from the date of investigation. The announcement shall come into effect from the date of publication.

On March 1, 2024, the Foreign Trade Secretariat of the Brazilian Ministry of Development, Industry, Trade and Services issued Announcement No. 9 of 2024, stating that in response to the application submitted by Companhia Sider ú rgica Nacional, a domestic enterprise in Brazil, on October 6, 2023, an anti-dumping investigation was initiated against tin plated and chrome plated coils originating in China. The dumping investigation period of the case is from July 2022 to June 2023, and the S460QL1 steel injury investigation period is from July 2018 to June 2023.
