On October 18, 2024, the Indonesian A588 Grade K steel Ministry of Finance issued Announcement No. 71 of 2024, deciding to continue imposing an 11.93% anti-dumping duty on H-section and I-section steel originating from or imported from China. The measures will take effect seven working days after the announcement and will be valid for five years. The products involved in the case are non alloy H-beams and I-beams with a height of not less than 80 millimeters, which have not undergone further processing except for hot rolling, hot drawing or extrusion. They involve A588 Grade K steel products under Indonesian tax codes 7216.32.10, 7216.32.90, 7216.33.11 and 7216.33.19.

On June 30, 2009, Indonesia initiated an anti-dumping investigation into H-shaped steel and I-shaped steel originating from or imported from China. On November 23, 2010, Indonesia officially imposed anti-dumping duties ranging from 6.63% to 11.93% on Chinese products involved in the case. Subsequently, Indonesia conducted two sunset reviews and made affirmative rulings, extending the tax period twice on December 23, 2015 and April 9, 2019. On February 13, 2023, Indonesia initiated its third sunset review investigation into the case. On December 29, 2023, the Indonesian Anti Dumping Commission made its third sunset review final ruling on the case, recommending an extension of the validity period of the 11.93% anti-dumping duty determined in Indonesian Ministry of Finance A588 Grade K steel Announcement No. 24/PMK.010/2019 for five years.
