Saudi Arabian steel companies will supply steel wind turbine towers to the Yanbu wind farm

Saudi Arabia’s Al Yamamah Steel announced on April 15 that it had signed a contract worth SAR 126 million (USD 33.6 million) with SEPCOIII Electric Power Construction Co., Ltd. to supply steel wind turbine towers for the Yanbu wind farm. With a contract duration of nine months, deliveries to the project are set to begin shortly, although the tonnage of steel required for the towers was not disclosed. The Yanbu Wind Farm is a major renewable energy project in the Al Madinah region of Saudi Arabia, with a planned installed capacity of 700 megawatts. SA1D steel strip ,The project is part of the Saudi National Renewable Energy Program (NREP), which aims to maximize and enhance the share of renewable energy in the Kingdom's domestic power generation mix, targeting a level of nearly 50%. The Ministry of Energy launched the NREP to achieve the strategic goals outlined in Saudi Vision 2030, an initiative dedicated to reducing the country's reliance on oil, strengthening the public sector, and creating a more sustainable economic environment.

Saudi Arabia, once a major destination for Turkish steel exports, has in recent years emerged as a leading steel producer in the Middle East and North Africa region. Al Yamamah Steel, one of the country's largest steel producers, has an annual capacity of 1.5 million tonnes.
