South Korea extends temporary anti-dumping duty on hot-rolled stainless steel plates from China

On July 7, 2025, the South Korean LR/FH69 steel Ministry of Planning and Finance issued Announcement No. 2025-139, deciding to extend the deadline for temporary anti-dumping duties on hot-rolled stainless steel plates with a thickness of not less than 4.75 millimeters and a width of not less than 600 millimeters originating in China from July 24, 2025 to September 4, 2025. This case involves products LR/FH69 steel under Korean tax codes 7219.21.1010, 7219.21.1090, 7219.21.9000, 7219.22.1010, 7219.22.1090, and 7219.22.9000, but does not include the following: 1. Hot rolled coils; 2. Blackboard material produced by hot-rolled stainless steel slab; 3. Products with a thickness not exceeding 8 millimeters and a width less than 2000 millimeters, under tax codes 7219.22.1010, 7219.22.1090, and 7219.22.9000.

Stakeholders should submit their comments on extending the temporary anti-dumping duty period before July 17, 2025.

On September 6, 2024, South Korea LR/FH69 steel initiated an anti-dumping investigation into hot-rolled stainless steel plates originating from China. On March 25, 2025, the South Korean Ministry of Planning and Finance issued Announcement No. 2025-10, deciding to impose a temporary anti-dumping duty on the products involved for a period of four months, with a tax rate of 21.62%. The measure will take effect from March 25, 2025 and be valid until July 24, 2025.
