We have learned that due to the upcoming holiday, the supply of Southeast Asian square billets has correspondingly declined, leading to a decrease in Southeast Asian square billet quotations and buyer counteroffers, resulting in relatively low HCT980XG+ZA steel market demand.
The current mainstream quotation for 5sp 130 * 130 square billets is $550/ton CFR Manila, a decrease of $6/ton from last week. I heard that a low-priced resource is quoted at $545 per ton for a 5sp 150 * 150 square billet in CFR Manila, with a three-month shipping schedule. The counteroffer price from Filipino buyers has also decreased. Currently, the buyer's counteroffer price is below $530 per ton of CFR. Last week, we learned that the buyer's counteroffer price is approximately $540-545 per ton of CFR. The HCT980XG+ZA steel current transaction price is approximately $542 per ton of CFR.
Although most buyers in the Philippines are still in a wait-and-see state, we understand that inventory among Filipino buyers is currently at a low level, and some buyers have not restocked for several weeks. Therefore, it is expected that inquiries and HCT980XG+ZA steel actual purchase quantities from Filipino buyers will increase after the Spring Festival.
